Loyola鈥檚 Karson Institute to host Black History Month celebration

樱花动漫鈥檚 Karson Institute for Race, Peace & Social Justice is hosting a Black History Month celebration and reception on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Gallery of the Loyola Notre Dame Library. The event is free and open to the public, though is required.
Titled 鈥淩edemption, Regression, Resistance: Black History Month Artivism Celebration,鈥 the event will feature poetry, prose, and music from local artists, students, and poets all in celebration of the history, contributions, and achievements of the African American community.
鈥淎s we approach the end of Black History Month 2025, the Karson Institute believes that this is a moment to stop and celebrate, remember, and uplift all of the work that has been done to build a more inclusive America,鈥 said Karsonya Wise Whitehead, Ph.D., founding executive director of the Karson Institute and professor of communication and African and African American studies.
