Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
The Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 was signed into law by former President George W. Bush on November 8, 1990. The Act is known as the Clery Act in memory of Jeanne Clery. According to Clery Center (2023), "The Clery Act requires colleges and universities to report campus crime data, support victims of violence, and publicly outline the policies and procedures they have put into place to improve campus safety." Loyola complies with the Clery Act by:
- Publishing the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report by October 1 each year and making it available online. You can download a copy of the 2024 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR) here. (If you choose to print the document, choose double-sided print).

Submitting three calendar years of crime and fire statistics to the .
- Maintaining detailed crime and fire logs.
- Sending timely warnings or emergency notifications to the campus community.
- Having policies and procedures that provide supportive measures to victims of violence.
The ASFSR contains policies for the Evergreen Campus, the International House in Leuven, Belgium, and the Loyola Clinical Centers at Belvedere Square. The ASFSR includes statistics for reported crimes on campus, in certain off-campus buildings and properties owned or controlled by Loyola University, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. It also includes institutional policies and procedures concerning campus security, sexual assault, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and fire safety. All policy statements apply to all campuses.
